This past weekend, we had the opportunity to visit Watson’s Mill State Park. It is a great spot with hiking trails, picnic areas, and after the name-sake, a beautiful wooden covered bridge. Georgia has several of these, but Watson’s Mill Covered Bridge is the longest in the state of Georgia coming in at 229 Feet. You can hear it creak as you drive across the old wood, but don’t worry it is sturdy. Located close to Elberton, Colbert, and Comer, Watson’s Mill is about 90 minutes from Atlanta and well worth the drive. The day was kind of hazy and humid, so the pictures did not reflect as well as hoped, but we hope to go back one early morning for sunrise and capture some pictures as the sun comes over the bridge. In the mean-time, enjoy the photos below from yesterday.
